Understanding Scale
Posted: 18 years ago - Feb 13, 2008A lot of people who argue with me about evolution and the other sciences usually try to make arguments that there hasn't been enough time. This usually indicates an inability to properly grasp the scale of time involved.
Dr Carl Sagan created a really descriptive example that he used to explain the amount of elapsed time in the universe and a way to truly grasp the scale of time involved. What he did was attempt to overlay what we understand about time onto a standard calendar. It really helps as a tool for understanding the immense scale of time involved.

Another point of contention is the actual scale of the universe. People don't properly understand the immense size. A great tool that I have used again and again is:
